How it all started…

VeneBites marked its grand opening on November 1, 2019. This family gem was born with the idea of bringing a little piece of Venezuela to Tallahassee. What was always a dream of having a place to sell Tropical Juices (Jugueria) today is a beautiful restaurant.

Lida Yajure, a Surgical Nurse by Profession, decided to immerse herself full-time in the culinary world in July 2020. In this uncertain journey into the gastronomical business excelled when she crossed paths with Chef Abraham, who was professionally trained in culinary arts in Venezuela.

They assembled a very small team together with Nancy (Lida's Mom) to ride the most uncertain year in the history of the world economy "2020" fighting against the economic and health adversities existent at the time. Lida's vocation of service after years of working as a nurse, combined with the culinary prowess of Chef Abraham and Nancy's infinite work energy gave life to the unique fusion that is today VeneBites.

Creating an unforgettable gastronomic experience that continues to delight its customers. Their objective is to bring the population of Tallahassee typical and authentic Venezuelan food, providing a high-quality homemade dishes, and making their diners feel at home or allowing many to travel back to Venezuela by just looking around; sharing not only their food but part of their culture.

Our products are elaborated artisan, without preservatives and using high-quality ingredients. Some of our products are: arepas, empanadas, cachitos, tequeños, sancochos (soups), pastichos (lasagna), paella and a variety of Venezuelan typical drinks and desserts.

Arepas are traditional Venezuelan corn meal pockets that can be made in various sizes and thickness. Depending on the region arepas can be baked, fried or grilled. At VeneBites, we craft the traditional purely gluten-free baked Venezuelan arepa, that is crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. Our arepas are proudly made with 100% P.A.N. corn meal, so as to keep that rich taste of corn and the perfect texture that has been the staple of the traditional Venezuelan arepas for many decades.
